I read this headline in the BBC news feed (now changed on the article) and wondered how this piece of HK current affairs (helpers are not currently allowed to claim permanent residence after seven years like most other workers) had made it to the BBC front page. In fact it was about UK domestic workers rather than HK.
I wouldn’t have known that such a law existed. Just goes to show how much of what happens in our place of residence is invisible to us.
