I have a personal disinclination to doing group status things.

Often I very much support the sentiment, though the manner of expressing it is often not what I’d choose. I guess it had something to do with having a blog for so long; having some idea of a personal voice.

Twitter has a useful concept of a twibbon, where your profile picture can show your affiliation to various causes and / or your feelings about events. Facebook needs something similar so you don’t have to post identical text if you don’t want to.

So there you have it: I’m an unusual part of the 97% not posting the cancer status.

RIP Stephen, Sean, Andy. One a decade is too high a rate that can only accelerate.
