Having handed vast amounts of money in the form of cheques to our estate agent last week, we waited with baited breath over the weekend to see if we had actually got the apartment we were hoping for. And the answer is yes, thankfully.
We will be in The Leighton Hill (NB you have to call it “the” because there is a Leighton Hill, and it confuses people if you don’t use the “The”. But it annoys me every time I say it.)
It’s a lovely block with good facilities and excellent views. More to come as I process the photos…
And with a racecourse conveniently on your doorstep too… x
Yes, you’ll be able to watch Wednesday evening races for free when you come over. It’s the only place you can legally bet in HK, turns over £10m a night.
Fab stuff – congrats! Xx
Setting up house whilst also back to work? Handing over loadsa wonga in hope? You are so brave. And clearly it’s all working well! Yaysome!
Awesome, guys. Can’t wait to see the pics. Glad you’re happy and settling in! xx
This Hong Kong lark is getting more and more convincing…
@Shandy – thanks, but still jealous of Barcelona
@Parker – Pics shortly.
@Emma – It does seem so, but that is a stock photo.
It’s more the accumulation of small details than any one pic, though pics look pretty good!
How is the cheese situation?
@Emma Hong Kong is the shipping (and shopping) centre of the world, so you can get a remarkable array of things here.
As an example, there is a chain, no less, of foodie cafés called Classified (http://www.classifiedfoodshops.com.hk/index.php?page=about) which are all about cheese and wine.
The food shop under the mall above which we currently reside (called great) has a massive cheese counter which sells, e.g. Montgomery’s cheddar and other Neal’s Yard classics (http://www.greatfoodhall.com/store_guide/cheese.htm).
So I’m afraid the cheese shop is not an ideal plan B. But to be fair, we haven’t cracked and had cheese yet.
