We come out of it pretty well. The reviewer is not a fan of most of the rest of the show, though.
The audience reaction felt very different from the stage side, IMHO.

What was it you were singing last night? It was really nice
The piece is called O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen, an American composer.
Later today, you’ll be able to listen to it on our website.

Points to the reviewer for noting sex/gender based differences in gratuitous exposure of bits. And noting the beautiful music you made. But seemingly they didn’t like it overall, did they?
What do you make of it as an hour and a half’s … performance?
On the exposure issue, they were both topless and projected at the full
height of the proscenium arch. I can see that it could seem gratuitous, but
the dancers I have met are all utterly unashamed about nudity, because they
have to wear such revealing clothes to dance effectively. Necessary: no. Out
of kilter with the show? I don’t think so.
On the show: the cheers and applause sounded pretty good from our side, but
then I don’t often have two thousand plus people applauding in such a fine auditorium.
I have an appreciation hole in my brain when it comes to ballet and modern dance. I get annoyed by dancers being out of time with themselves, let alone
the music. That said, I loved the pieces that the reviewer enjoyed, and
thought the video elements were pretty good as they allowed the dancers to interact with the world without cluttering the stage with physical objects.
I think I would have enjoyed the evening as an audience member, maybe not
quite as much as the show for The Place’s 40th anniversary. However this is
a show that is taking off in new directions, and that was a retrospective of
the best of the last 40 years.
