Lovely idea from Lenovo: detach the screen of your laptop and use it like an iPad. This isn’t far off what the TC1100 did all those years ago, but with a finger touch screen rather than a stylus. Now all we need is for the alternative operating system to be Android not Lenovo’s own Linux, and we’re good to go. So now you wouldn’t have to by an iPad and a laptop.
A little more seriously, this shows that the iPad is going into a crowded sector. It remains to be seen whether the usual excellent Apple industrial design plus mainstream ease of use means that it can own the sector in the same way as it did music and smart phones.
I quite agree Tom. Just writing a long article about the iPad which I’ll post to my website in a day or two, which comes to similar conclusions. But whilst the iPad might not ignite, I think it will be the catalyst for a new generation of touch-screen tablets running “proper” OS’s (and flash-compatible!) which will represent a media revolution…
im loving the ipad personally. what do you think of it now? was it upto your standards?
