Sometimes The Big Picture is depressing, because all of the photos are far better than you could ever imagine taking. Certainly true of these animal photos.
I particularly liked the pygmy hippos:
…the paddleboarding next to a whale…
…and the Gaza zebra.
Pigmy hippos are certainly in the spectrum of death-by-cuteness.
