Never a good thing to lift the lid on bona fide scientists and find bad practice. As an example, 23% of press releases from a selection of medical research centres didn´t mention the number of participants (in this study: 200 releases selected randomly from one year of PR from 20 centres).

The question for me is this: how can we make caveats about the pitfalls of different types of research without others being able to completely discredit the research, rather than looking at the substance?
