I think the Russians might have this one right as well: $1.50 for standard, $2 for High Def films. I’m trying a download of Frost/Nixon as a tester (update: about two hours for the download on normal BT 8Mb broadband).
I haven’t bought a DVD for me for far over a year, so let’s see if my spend accelerates here as well. Hello the movie industry: paying customer waiting for you…
I signed up for filmous, having had a good experience with mp3Fiesta (same company). About half the films I´ve downloaded have been faulty. Customer service is utterly useless. Don´t give them your money.
That doesn´t sound good. My first two were fine, but that´s a useful caution. I guess I didn´t expect much service for $2 a film, but a working file would help.
Same here, filmous is a bad taste joke, it looks like the library is huge, but it is only the hook, for me the movies take long time to download and once they did they are incomplete, or simply are not viewable.
I think that about half of them are fine, it is about good luck, and don´t expect the most recent listed movies work, they only have the name there and it is the trailer
I have downloaded literally dozens of films from Filmous and the only problem I have ever had is a missing codec on a Mac for the .avi´s.
It´s been brilliant. Cancelled my membership to filmous and plug the projector into my laptop. The comments above are not true.
FILMOUS.COM IS ONE CRAPPY COMPANY- THEY ARE BILLING MY CREDIT CARD EVEN AFTER SAYING THEY WOULD NOT. Do NOT sign up for Filmous.com or Movieberry.com or PandaMP3.com – they are all connected & all of them will continue to place monthly charges on your card even AFTER you opt out of their membership. They will tell you your membership IS canceled but they will continue to bill long after you have no access to your old account.
To make matters worse, most of their ( filmous.com ) files were never even able to be downloaded. When they were complete, they were very bad quality.
Unless you want to go through a BIG HASSLE with your credit card company because some crooks in Russia keep charging for services you will not receive, STAY FAR AWAY FROM filmous.com and the others mentioned above.
filmous.com, filmous.com, filmous.com, filmous.com, filmous.com,
it would appear “NICK” is attempting some type of damage control for lousy company known as filmous.com. Let’s see- 1 out of 5 on this post had a wonderful experience with no problems or complaints while the others had nothing good to say…
NB I know Nick personally so 100% trust what he says. I have had a four out of five experience with Filmous so far. Funnily enough, if you download a film that has only been out in theatres a week it is unlikely to be of DVD quality. I haven’t had the credit card issues, but I just loaded some money, rather than signed up for a subscription.
its a real rip off – three weeks after joining and adding $50 i find i can no longer access my account. i have tried calling day and night but of course no-one answers the phone.
I know that the US has been targeting Filmous which has made the site disappear sporadically.
It’s working fine for me this morning.
I have used filmous on and off for a couple of years and have never had any problms with billing and credit cards. I have had some issues with the quality of the downloads, in particular with TV series’ sometimes the episodes are namedm incorrectly. I’ve also had corrupt files and stuff.
However, 9 out of 10 times it works fine, and the way I see it you get what you pay for. It’s dirt cheap; if you want perfect quality pay full price from iTunes!
Hi guys, I have to agree with the negative press on filmous. I’ve mused MP3Fiesta and, recently, Filmous for years. Everything was working fine until recently last/this year when 9/10 downloaded films have been incomplete. I have been unable to contact customer service, have not received any credits for the incomplete downloads and am generally disappointed that it’s all gone downhill.
I actually came across this site searching for forums that might offer a solution or troubleshoot the problem 🙁
Hope this helps, I do not recommend using them.
Have been with filmous now for over five years. Never had problem with my creditcard, nor with getting refunds. If there is a problem with a download, even if it is my fault, Filmous have always credited my account. All in all I think they are a great company, unlike others I could mention.
If you have a fault, just email them and ask them to recredit you. They have always honoured my requests.
