FYI if you need to give people international payment details, you can find the IBAN and Branch Identifiers by going to print a statement from the First Direct online system (you don’t need to actually print the statement).

Cheers very much for the info, it worked 🙂
Yes that was very helpful, thanks!
Excellent, to the point, and saved me a phone call to First Direct. Cheers!
Brilliant – quick and easy
Thank-you, very helpful. Worked a treat!
Thanks for the tip, saved me an annoying phone call to a call centre!
Many thanks. Come on FD – make it easier to find please!
Thanks – that did the trick – needed for itunes connect bank info
I have a First direct account current account
Sort code is: 40 47 75
Account number is: xxxxxxx00 But I need the branch
Iban reference ???
and Swift numbers?
to transfrer funds from overseas do you have this information so I can prefix the codes to my transfer?
First Direct
The branch identifier code or SWIFT number will be MIDLGB2168F (See http://www.swiftbic.com/swift-code-MIDLGB2168F.html.)
Your International Bank Account Number or IBAN will start GB45MIDL and then have your sort code (without spaces or hyphens) and then your account number. So in your example: GB45MIDL404775xxxxxx00.
You can confirm this by logging in to online banking and going to View Statements->Print (at bottom centre left of screen)->Preview (at bottom centre of screen). This will give you a statement view which will include your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC under the summary box.
ACE thanks! Saved me some time =D
Best to check as they have different IBANs depending on the sort code (apparently they have more than one) my sort code ends 87 and my IBAN starts GB47. If you phone them, they can tell you.
EXCELLENT, thank you. So easy when you KNOW it, lol. Internet banking, Print, preview…..pffffff you would think it would be a small efford for the bank to make a shortcute in the option menu on their first page. Surely many people will be needing their IBAN number and Branch Identifier Code somewhere down the line. But until that happens, the shortcut creation, thanks people for creating this threat.
Thank you so much, never heard of iban till I needed it!

Colette, you should be able to find them from your internet banking statements. Details in the comments on this post.
May i please have the IBAN No for First Direct Bank . I am trying to wire some funds from kenya
You can ask for details from the First Direct bank account holder’s online statements.
This information is still valid, thank you!
Worked for me too, I’m so grateful, didn’t have a clue what to do!!!
Not infallible. Just took the number from my print preview, and my bank’s system would not accept it. But then it IS a Brazilian bank …
