Saw this a while back. Is it just me or is there something ever so slightly scary about it? My first reaction wasn´t awe – although it is hugely impressive – it was a slight sense of fear that the first properly animalistic robot is here already.
Yes it is scary – you don´t want to meet it on a dark night. You re right, it is certainly animalistic, but the oddest thing for me was its ability to chose horse-like leg movements during its "don´t touch the yellow square" trick and insect or crab-like sideways leg crossing while trying not to fall over. All the time looking a little like a deer while doing careful leg plants. It has the best of all multi-leg locomotion in one place – how would it work with a human on its back?
