First pictures of Pegasus at the Coliseum

Dancer Zenaida Yanowsky is the first photo I’ve seen which shows the feet and vague heads of Pegasus on stage at the Coliseum. It’s not our finest publicity shot, but I think I can work out which is me! It is a funky effect having us there: we can’t see it, of course.

There are some others of the dress rehearsal in the photo stream.

We come out of it pretty well. The reviewer is not a fan of most of the rest of the show, though.

The audience reaction felt very different from the stage side, IMHO.

Amazing how a show comes together when you have to perform to a few thousand people.

Very much enjoyed the first night of Pegasus as a part of Carlos Acosta premieres. The audience reaction suggested they did too.

Now I know that Carlos and Zen will continue to produce the goods; there were some magical moments. Up to us to delight the audience each night too.

What a ride.

Not bad going: left Hong Kong at midnight and back home at six thirty in the morning. A good seven hours’ sleep on the plane and now for a brief snooze before rehearsals and first performance of the Carlos Acosta premieres. A long and busy day ahead.

ListenToYouTube.com does what it says on the tin: allows you to extract the sound from a YouTube video as an mp3. Very useful indeed.

Big Society choir

I like Sholto’s idea of bringing people together around a song in How do you create a “big society”?. He’s also spot on about singing being egalitarian. I also enjoy meeting people from random backgrounds: there is no required route through school and university to be a good singer.

I wonder if the Estonian experience has any lessons for us: just imagine 25,000 massed voices!
