For those who don’t know it, the list of current Metacrawler queries at Metaspy is brilliant.
Reasonable article about various different web server / scripting schemes.
Apparently robot evolution is blasting along at about 10 million times the speed of human evolution. Despite current robots having the intelligence of insects (who could quite easily take over the world, but don’t appear to want to) we only have 40-50 years before robots overtake us. Issue: if cyborg technology keeps pace, maybe we’ll keep ahead?
Interesting site re: design. I don’t agree with lots of it, but some of the tutorials / colour palettes are useful.
Beautiful - the Gutenberg bible is now online.
Details of the new encyclopaedias. Are they for real? Surely niche plus aggregate ought to work best?

Florida road signs.
MarchFirst is in terrible trouble - it now needs a cool $100m to meet its ongoing needs, this is not even investment money.
Discussion with the NN Group principals.
Great summary of what to do about stock options. US-based, but surely some of the tax issues are issues for the UK as well?
Useful web tool: choose suitable colors and set them against each other - a maniac swatch, I guess.
And the article it came from - also interesting. I smell linkrot.
OK. So do mirrors reverse left and right or not?
I think ICG could quite easily go down the pan, no?
Fortune article about what’s happening in the tech stock arena. Some interesting stuff - e.g. the recent fall in spend by Telcos has affected some of the optical networking people. The drop in spending is mostly on people, not equipment, thus lessening the actual (i.e. not Wall Street) effect on the companies.
“Caroline” will be delighted - MillerShanks is coming to life.
The Palm Beach ballot is actually harder in real life than you might have thought. I take back everything I thought about the residents of that fine state.
Fascinating discussion about not watching TV. Try watching a soap opera for 15 minutes with no sound. Try watching news for 15 minutes without the sound on. Try watching TV for 30 minutes without turning it on.
Microsoft MSDN article about why / how to prototype.

An amazing redesign from the IHT. An appalling one from the LAT.
New boss (ex-Amazon) of VerticalNet talks about the future.
Interesting discussion of how the new wireless ethernet standard (like Apple’s Airport) is taking off. Will this nuke the 3G developments? If they think of a way around congestion, then it probably will. Maybe the UK Government will have to give back the $34bn!
